Dunfermlines Gift
Affectionately known to locals as 'The Glen', Pittencrieff Park has been delighting visitors since its was gifted to the people of Dunfermline in 1903 by Steel Magnate and Philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. In fact the Louise Gates just next to our main entrance are named after his wife. It's the perfect place for a stroll and feed the almost tame squirrels. There are fantastic views of the bridges, rare plants and trees, a play park and if you're lucky you might catch a glimpse of the resident peacocks in all their glory!

The Kingdom of Fife is a favourite filming location for the popular Amazon Prime period drama and avid fans have been flocking to our area since Series One hit the screens. With Culross (Cranesmuir), Aberdour Castle (Benedictine Monastery, Abbey Ste Anne de Beaupre) and Linlithgow Palace (Wentworth Prison) plus some real Pictish standing stones (The Tuilyies Standing Stones) all within a stone's throw The City Hotel is your ideal fan location!
Walk through the ages
Winner of the Best Building in Scotland 2017, Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries is just around the corner from the hotel and a must visit.

For fans of speed Knockhill Racing Circuit hosts championship racing and car shows throughout the year and we can't discuss sport without a mention for Scottish Rugby. We're the perfect place to stay if you're heading to Murrayfield Rugby Ground to support your team.
